Right now, in a time when we are all searching for new ways to invest in the progress we want to see in the world, THIS is that opportunity to invest in something true, something real. 

I am honored to be serving as a Chair of the Executive Board of East Oakland based organization, Acta Non Verba: Youth Urban Farm Project. With the farm as the classroom, children ages 5-13 have a safe space to just be kids as well as deepen their connection to food and wellness. The harvest of the farm is sold locally and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their produce goes into individual college savings accounts for participating kids.

I joined the Board of ANV because believe in Kelly (our Executive Director) as a person. I believe in what she has achieved over the last 5 years and I believe in what she will continue to do--to elevate life in Oakland and to change the narrative around communities of color.
